Corporate & MICE Sales Executive

Boutique hotel or five-star property, Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen

MXN 16,000 – 24,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + commission on corporate meetings and events closed

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the corporate meeting and small MICE group business for a PDC property: the Playa del Carmen boutique luxury hotel serves corporate groups that want a meeting destination with cenote access, the Caribbean as an outdoor meeting backdrop, and the social programming of a Riviera Maya boutique rather than a large convention resort
  • Prospect the corporate meeting market in CDMX and Monterrey: Playa del Carmen's corporate group market is primarily domestic — face-to-face client visits to CDMX corporate travel managers and event planners are a quarterly sales activity that generates the PDC corporate group pipeline
  • Prepare MICE proposals with the Riviera Maya eco-experience differentiation: the PDC boutique corporate meeting proposal leads with the unique venue assets — outdoor meeting terraces, cenote post-meeting activities, sustainable meeting logistics, and the property's zero-plastic commitment that resonates with ESG-motivated corporate clients
  • Manage the ESG and sustainable meetings market: corporate clients with sustainability commitments (B Corp certified companies, ESG-reporting multinationals) actively seek meeting venues with genuine environmental credentials — the PDC eco-property's SEMARNAT compliance, biodegradable product standards, and carbon commitment are commercial differentiators for this segment
  • Coordinate with the operations team on program design for confirmed corporate groups: custom welcome activations, team-building activities (cenote team snorkel, cooking class, mezcal tasting), and sustainable catering options that serve the group's specific objectives
  • Track and report corporate account production and pipeline status monthly

Requirements

  • Corporate meeting and event sales experience; eco or boutique hotel preferred
  • English and Spanish bilingual
  • ESG and sustainable meetings market knowledge
  • B2B sales discipline for the domestic Mexican corporate market
  • Riviera Maya experience product knowledge

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Staff meals
  • Fixed monthly + MICE and corporate meeting commission
  • Career development in the boutique luxury MICE market
  • Travel budget for client visits to CDMX and Monterrey

Work environment

Corporate and MICE sales executive at a PDC boutique hotel. Sustainable meetings market development, domestic corporate client prospecting, and eco-experience-integrated group program sales for the Riviera Maya's boutique corporate meeting segment.

About the role

The PDC corporate sales executive who pitches a CDMX B Corp technology company on a 2-day corporate retreat — who builds the proposal around the company's sustainability report and their goal to achieve net-zero meetings by 2027, who includes the property's SEMARNAT compliance certificate, the zero-plastic food and beverage program, and the cenote team activity as a carbon-neutral team-building experience — who closes the contract for 35 rooms and a 2-day meeting package at a rate 22% above the standard corporate rate — has won on differentiation, not on price. The sale was won when the client read the proposal and recognized that the property had read their sustainability report.
