Reservations & RevenueGroup Sales Manager — Boutique Luxury Market
Boutique luxury or eco-luxury resort, Riviera Maya / Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen
Fixed monthly + commission on group and retreat bookings closed
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the group sales pipeline for a PDC boutique luxury property: target segments include high-end wellness retreat operators (yoga instructors, wellness coaches, corporate wellness programs), luxury incentive programs for premium brand clients (fashion, technology, financial services), and destination wedding couples who want a boutique Riviera Maya experience with 20–80 guests
- Prepare and present boutique group proposals that lead with the experience rather than the logistics: the PDC boutique group sale is a quality argument, not a capacity argument — the proposal communicates the specific cenote access, the eco-property's culinary identity, the private cenote morning yoga option, and the genuine individual attention that a small-group booking at this property receives
- Coordinate with the eco-property management on SEMARNAT-compliant group experience programming: the boutique Riviera Maya property's group product includes activities that require SEMARNAT compliance — cenote access, reef snorkeling, and marine reserve proximity — the sales manager understands and communicates these protocols as program features
- Manage the retreat and wellness group market: wellness retreat operators book 3–7 day property buyouts at boutique Riviera Maya properties at ADRs 30–50% above the property's standard room rate — the sales manager develops relationships with the wellness retreat operator community and positions the property as the Riviera Maya's preferred boutique retreat venue
- Handle the destination wedding group sales for the boutique market: PDC boutique wedding couples are typically more design-conscious and experience-focused than the Cancún all-inclusive wedding market — the sales presentation must be visually compelling and experience-specific
- Attend wellness travel and boutique luxury travel trade events
Requirements
- Hotel group sales experience; boutique, eco-property, or wellness retreat market preferred
- English and Spanish bilingual; European language strongly preferred for the PDC international group market
- Wellness retreat and luxury boutique group sales competency
- Proposal quality at a visual and conceptual standard appropriate for luxury group buyers
- Commission-driven commercial motivation
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Staff meals
- Fixed monthly + group revenue commission
- Career development in the boutique luxury group sales market
- Integration into the Riviera Maya's boutique retreat and wellness operator community
Work environment
Group sales manager at a PDC boutique luxury or eco-luxury resort. Wellness retreat, luxury incentive, and destination wedding group sales for the Riviera Maya's high-ADR boutique hospitality segment.
About the role
The PDC boutique group sales manager who wins a 35-person luxury fashion brand incentive trip — who in the proposal included a private sunset cenote experience, a custom tasting menu prepared by the property's chef with Yucatecan sourcing, and a wellness morning designed by the property's yoga instructor — who on arrival day oversees 35 people who came expecting a nice resort and received something that felt genuinely curated for them — is selling a product that no Cancún all-inclusive can replicate. The cenote at sunset with 35 people and no other groups present is a product that requires a boutique property, a strong network, and a sales manager who knew how to connect the client's aspirations to exactly that experience.
