Wedding & Social Events Sales Coordinator

Boutique hotel or resort, Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta

MXN 14,000 – 20,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + per-contract commission on signed wedding and social event packages

Responsibilities

  • Manage the destination wedding and social event sales at a Puerto Vallarta boutique property: the PVR wedding market serves North American couples who want a colonial-coastal Mexican setting with Jalisco cultural elements (tequila ceremonies, mariachi serenade, charro horseback photo session) alongside the Caribbean sunset beach backdrop
  • Present the property's wedding venue options: beach ceremony locations, colonial courtyard venues, rooftop terraces with Banderas Bay views — PVR's architectural diversity provides a distinctive wedding setting that differs from the purely beach-focused Cancún market
  • Develop and communicate the Jalisco cultural wedding experience: the PVR wedding package that includes a mariachi serenade at the cocktail hour, a tequila welcome ceremony with an artisanal Jalisco producer, and a folk dance performance is differentiated from any Cancún or Riviera Maya wedding package in a way that authentic culture cannot be replicated
  • Manage the site inspection process for prospective wedding couples: the PVR wedding site visit is designed around the colonial architecture, the bay view from the ceremony location at golden hour, and the romantic Zona Romántica dinner that closes the visit — the coordinator stages each element to convert the visit into a signed contract
  • Develop relationships with North American wedding planners who specialize in Mexican destination weddings: the wedding planner community has specific destination specialists — the PVR wedding coordinator who builds relationships with the top 10 Mexico-specialist wedding planners in the US and Canada has a proactive referral channel for the property's wedding program
  • Handle social event sales alongside weddings: quinceañeras, anniversary celebrations, and corporate social events are secondary revenue streams that the coordinator manages alongside the primary wedding program

Requirements

  • Wedding or event sales experience; boutique hotel or destination wedding property preferred
  • English and Spanish bilingual
  • Jalisco cultural wedding experience knowledge
  • North American destination wedding planner community relationships preferred
  • Commercial conversion motivation with wedding couple communication warmth

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Staff meals
  • Fixed monthly + per-contract wedding commission
  • Career development toward Senior Wedding Sales Manager
  • Integration into PVR's destination wedding community

Work environment

Wedding and social events sales coordinator at a Puerto Vallarta boutique hotel. Destination wedding package sales with Jalisco cultural programming, site inspection management, and North American wedding planner community development.

About the role

The PVR wedding sales coordinator who presents to a couple from Chicago — who times the roof terrace visit at 6:15pm when Banderas Bay turns the specific shade of gold that PVR sunset produces in January — who has the mariachi trio playing two floors below at the right moment, so the music carries up without being planned as a performance — and who later that evening processes the deposit over dinner while the couple is still under the spell of the sunset they just witnessed — has done something that no marketing budget can replicate: delivered the actual experience at the moment of the sale. The deposit was not for a room and a package. It was for the repetition of that sunset, one year from now, as the couple's first married evening together.
