Reservations Agent — Boutique Hotel & Cultural Concierge

Boutique colonial hotel, Guadalajara Centro Histórico or Tlaquepaque

Guadalajara

MXN 10,000 – 14,500 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + direct booking bonus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete reservations process for a boutique Guadalajara or Tlaquepaque hotel: the cultural tourism market that visits Guadalajara (art collectors visiting Tlaquepaque, culinary travelers, tequila enthusiasts, and the international conference market) books boutique hotels for their character and local authenticity — the reservations agent's communication reflects this character
  • Communicate the Guadalajara and Jalisco cultural experience as part of the booking process: the Tequila Valley distillery experience options (La Rojeña, El Llano, and the smaller artisanal producers), the Tlaquepaque artisan market schedule, the Guadalajara metropolitan cathedral and Hospicio Cabañas cultural circuit — the reservations agent frames these as experiences embedded in the stay
  • Manage the OTA and direct booking channel balance: boutique Guadalajara hotels depend on direct booking conversion for commercial sustainability — the reservations agent supports the direct booking strategy with personalized responses to every inquiry
  • Handle wedding block reservations for the Guadalajara hacienda and colonial venue wedding market: Guadalajara and the surrounding Jalisco region are premier destination wedding locations — the boutique hotel near a hacienda wedding venue manages significant wedding room blocks through the reservations agent
  • Process the domestic culinary tourism market: the Guadalajara food scene's international recognition (several restaurants with James Beard-level recognition, the birrería culture, the pozole and tacos de barbacoa tradition) attracts domestic travelers specifically for culinary experience — the reservations agent understands and communicates this product
  • Coordinate the Tequila Train experience booking for guests interested in the UNESCO-protected Tequila landscape tour

Requirements

  • Reservations experience; boutique hotel or cultural tourism property preferred
  • Spanish native; English and ideally a European language
  • Guadalajara and Jalisco cultural and culinary knowledge
  • Direct booking conversion approach
  • Hacienda wedding room block coordination

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Staff meals
  • Direct booking bonus
  • Career development in Guadalajara's boutique cultural tourism sector

Work environment

Reservations agent and cultural concierge at a Guadalajara boutique hotel. Cultural tourism booking management with Jalisco experience curation and hacienda wedding room block coordination.

About the role

The Guadalajara boutique reservations agent who responds to a booking inquiry from a couple in Toronto who mention they love tequila and are planning their first visit to Mexico — who recommends the specific week of the Olmeca Festival if it aligns, explains the Tequila Train (a heritage railway experience from Guadalajara to the town of Tequila), suggests the small boutique producer in the highlands that only receives visitors by appointment and that the hotel can arrange — and who processes a booking that has the couple arriving with a scheduled itinerary that will produce the best Jalisco culinary and tequila experience possible — has done something that booking.com cannot: turned a generic inquiry into a purposeful journey.
