Reservations & RevenueReservations Agent — Colonial Boutique Hotel
Boutique colonial mansion hotel, Mérida Centro Histórico
Mérida
Fixed monthly + transport subsidy + direct booking conversion bonus
Responsibilities
- Manage all reservation channels for a Mérida boutique colonial hotel: direct phone and email bookings, OTA platforms (Booking.com is the dominant channel for Mérida's European market, Airbnb for the residential-style colonial property segment), and direct website bookings
- Communicate the Yucatán Peninsula archaeological experience as the property's primary selling context: the Chichén Itzá day trip logistics (recommended departure time, Ik Kil cenote addition, EAT local guide services), the Uxmal evening sound and light show on selected dates, and the Mérida evening cultural calendar (Noche Mexicana, the Sunday park events, the Centro Histórico restaurant circuit) are all communicated during the booking conversation or confirmation email
- Manage the heat protocol communication for peak summer bookings: guests booking in April–May need proactive communication about the extreme heat and the recommended activity schedule — the reservations agent includes this information in all summer booking confirmations as a guest experience preparation measure
- Handle the European and North American archaeological tourism market: Mérida attracts a significant proportion of European guests (French, Spanish, German, Italian) who are specifically pursuing Mayan civilization tourism — the agent manages these bookings with the cultural knowledge and communication standard the market expects
- Coordinate the cenote circuit day trip bookings as an add-on product: the Mérida boutique hotel that offers pre-arranged cenote circuit day trips (Cenote Ik Kil, Cenote Dzitnup, Hacienda Sotuta de Peón) as part of the booking process captures revenue and reduces guest planning burden simultaneously
- Manage seasonal demand cycles: October–February peak (archaeological tourism, comfortable temperatures) versus April–May low (extreme heat); the reservations agent applies rate strategy accordingly
Requirements
- Hotel reservations experience; boutique or cultural tourism property preferred
- English and Spanish bilingual; French or Italian a meaningful advantage for Mérida's European market
- Yucatán Peninsula archaeological and cultural knowledge
- OTA extranet management (Booking.com, Airbnb)

Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Transport subsidy MXN 500/month

- Career development in Mérida's growing cultural tourism hotel sector
Work environment
Reservations agent at a Mérida boutique colonial hotel. Archaeological tourism booking management with European market multilingual communication and Yucatán Peninsula experience curation.
About the role
The Mérida boutique reservations agent who receives an email inquiry in French from a retired professor couple who want to spend 5 nights exploring Mayan civilization — who responds in French, who recommends the specific sequence (Mérida Monday-Tuesday with evening Noche Mexicana and Centro Histórico dinner; Wednesday Uxmal day trip with the sound and light show; Thursday Chichén Itzá with 8am arrival; Friday Izamal and cenote), who pre-arranges the transport and the local guides, and who processes a booking where the couple arrives with a complete itinerary rather than arriving without a plan — has provided a service that a booking platform cannot replicate and that will generate a detailed, enthusiastic review in a French travel publication or travel blog that reaches 40,000 future Mérida travelers.
