Artisan Market Retail Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist guests in hotel artisan market — curated Mexican artisan products, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, woodwork
• Provide cultural and provenance context for artisan products — where pieces were made, by whom, and from what tradition
• Execute negotiation within property's pricing parameters — artisan market retail often involves guest price inquiry
• Build product knowledge of regional artisan traditions represented — Oaxacan textiles, Guerrero silver, Chiapas amber, Yucatecan henequén
• Manage product display and inventory in market-format retail environment
• Process sales and maintain accurate transaction records

Requirements

• Knowledge of or genuine interest in Mexican artisan traditions
• Basic English with enough conversation for product storytelling
• Comfortable in a market-format sales environment — less scripted than boutique retail
• Sales instinct and product enthusiasm
