OPC — 5th Avenue & Downtown Tourist Zone

Responsibilities

• Work designated sections of 5th Avenue and surrounding tourist areas: approach couples and families browsing, shopping, or dining who meet visual qualification indicators
• Qualify on the spot: confirm couple or small family group, non-business travel, home ownership or rental commitment, adequate vacation time remaining, and eligibility for the guest gift offer
• Explain the presentation invitation honestly: 90 minutes at the resort, gift upon completion, no obligation to purchase
• Arrange transport to resort location if required — some Playa vacation clubs are on the beach strip outside walking range from 5th Avenue
• Book and confirm tour time slot with the resort's tour scheduling team
• Meet daily tour count targets and report to OPC team lead at shift end

Requirements

• High-energy social personality comfortable approaching strangers
• English conversational level; additional European language ability a genuine advantage in Playa's mixed international tourist market
• Honest and straightforward approach — Playa del Carmen has a sophisticated tourist audience that responds poorly to pressure
• Sales or direct guest contact experience preferred

About the role

Playa's 5th Avenue is one of the highest foot-traffic tourist zones in Mexico. The challenge is not finding prospects — it's finding the right ones in the middle of thousands of people. The OPC who has developed the eye for qualification in that crowd, who can read a couple in 15 seconds and know whether to approach, saves their own time and the sales team's time in equal measure.
