Hotel Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control boutique hotel access — main entrance, courtyard, guest room corridors, parking
• Conduct scheduled patrols across the property — small boutique hotels require thorough coverage of all areas including roof terraces and inner courtyards
• Respond to guest incidents — medical emergencies, lost items, disturbances, unauthorized access
• Manage night security — boutique hotels with colonial open-air architecture require active overnight presence
• Operate basic CCTV systems and maintain incident log
• Coordinate with local police when required
• Assist guests with local safety orientation — new arrivals to Mérida often ask security staff about safe areas and local navigation

Requirements

• STASPE certification
• Clean background record
• Physical fitness for patrol duty in Mérida's heat
• Basic English — Mérida's boutique hotel guests are predominantly international cultural tourists
• Calm, personable judgment — boutique hotel security requires a softer professional register than large resort security
