Esthetician — Resort & Day Spa

Responsibilities

• Deliver facial and skin treatments — cleansing facials, hydration treatments, brightening protocols, anti-aging facials, post-sun recovery treatments
• Apply Mayan-inspired beauty treatments — papaya enzyme facial, copal resin skin treatment, cenote mineral brightening
• Conduct skin consultation and Fitzpatrick analysis — Playa's multilingual guest base requires clear, simple consultation communication across language barriers
• Deliver body treatments — exfoliation, wraps, sun recovery protocols
• Provide waxing and hair removal services
• Maintain treatment room to spa standards and manage product inventory for treatment use

Requirements

• Certified esthetician with 1+ year professional experience
• Post-sun and tropical skin care expertise — Riviera Maya sun exposure creates specific recurring skin conditions
• English proficiency; French or Italian useful for Playa's European guest base
• Genuine skin analysis competence — guests may arrive with conditions they don't recognize
• Professional, hygienic presentation

The skin specialist for the sun-soaked Riviera Maya traveler. The Playa guest whose Italian skin has been exposed to Caribbean UV for five days — who arrives at the spa with redness, dehydration, and early peeling — receives a dramatically different quality of care from an esthetician who does a real skin analysis and customizes treatment, versus one who runs the standard hotel facial protocol regardless of what they see.
