Work environment
Temazcal ceremony spaces and traditional healing environments in Oaxaca. Working within a living indigenous healing tradition — in the homeland of the Zapotec civilization — is a professionally extraordinary and culturally meaningful context.
About the role
The holder of living knowledge. The temazcal is not a spa trend imported to Oaxaca — it is an indigenous healing practice that has existed in this region for over 2,000 years and is still practiced in Zapotec communities throughout the Sierra Juárez. The therapist who facilitates that ceremony for international visitors — who carries the practice forward with genuine knowledge rather than theatrical imitation — is doing cultural preservation work alongside therapeutic work.
