Mayan Healing & Ritual Treatment Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver Mayan traditional healing treatments — Arvigo abdominal massage, spiritual healing herb baths, clay and sacred earth body treatments
• Assist in temazcal (Mayan sweat lodge) ceremony facilitation — preparation, ceremony support, post-ceremony cooling treatment
• Guide cacao ceremony bodywork integration — post-cacao relaxation massage, heart-opening somatic work
• Apply traditional plant medicine knowledge in topical treatment formats — hierba santa, copal, rue, cedar, Maya herb poultice
• Educate guests on the cultural and traditional origins of each treatment
• Maintain ceremonial treatment spaces with cultural respect and ecological care

Requirements

• Certified massage therapist with additional training in traditional or energetic bodywork
• Genuine interest in and respect for Mayan healing traditions — cultural authenticity is non-negotiable in this market
• Comfort with ceremony-adjacent professional contexts
• English and Spanish; indigenous language knowledge a distinction
• Experience with temazcal ceremony participation or facilitation preferred
