Spa & Cultural Wellness Manager

Boutique hotel, cultural wellness center, or hacienda spa, Oaxaca City

Oaxaca

Monthly salary + performance component

Responsibilities

  • Lead spa and cultural wellness program — manage team of 5–15 professionals including indigenous ceremony practitioners

  • Source authentic Oaxacan ingredients — barro negro clay, copal, mezcal, Zapotec medicinal plants — through direct artisan and community relationships
  • Develop cultural tourism spa packages with boutique hotel and tour operator partnerships
  • Contribute to Oaxaca's cultural wellness conversation — the manager who publishes, presents, and engages the destination community builds professional authority that benefits the property commercially

Work environment

Boutique spa and cultural wellness management in Oaxaca City. The most culturally specific spa management role in Mexico — requiring and developing a professional competence that is genuinely irreplaceable.

About the role

The guardian of a living healing heritage. Oaxaca's spa manager who has built genuine relationships with the temazcal facilitators, the Zapotec herbal healers, the copal producers, the barro negro artisans — who has created a wellness program that those community members trust and are proud to be part of — has built something that no competitor can copy from a menu alone. Authentic cultural wellness programming is not a product. It is a set of relationships. The manager who holds those relationships is the person the property cannot replace.
