Cancún
MXN 14,500 – 21,000 / monthFull-time, permanent
Fixed monthly + student tip income
Responsibilities
- Conduct PADI Open Water Diver certification courses from classroom through checkout dives: the standard 3–4 day OWD course from pool confined water sessions through ocean certification dives at Cancún reef sites

- Conduct equipment assembly and pre-dive checks for all course participants and rental equipment customers
- Maintain dive log, student record keeping, and PADI online certification submission for completed courses
- Support the dive shop's equipment rental operation: fitting wetsuit, BCD, and mask for rental customers, explaining equipment use, and managing equipment rinse and storage after each dive
Requirements
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification
- Emergency First Response Instructor certification
- 300+ logged dives; Caribbean reef experience preferred
- English and Spanish bilingual (the Cancún Hotel Zone's diver demographic is primarily North American with domestic Mexican growing)
- Patient and encouraging personality for resort-course first-time divers

- Fixed monthly + student gratuity income
- Free diving access to MUSA and Caribbean reef sites
- Dive equipment provision during shift

Work environment
High-volume resort dive school in Cancún's Hotel Zone. Daily resort courses, certification programs, and guided reef tours in the world's second-largest coral reef system.
About the role
The Cancún resort dive instructor who runs 3 DSDs and 2 Advanced Open Water checkouts in a single day is building diving experience at a pace and frequency that very few work environments in the world provide. The MUSA underwater museum dive — leading guests through a field of 500 life-size sculptures being slowly colonized by coral — is an experience that is genuinely unlike any other dive site on the planet.
