Senior Dive Instructor / Course Director — IDC Facility

Responsibilities

• Facilitate PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC): train and certify new PADI Instructors through the 7–14 day IDC program culminating in the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) — this is the industry's most significant instructor-level training program
• Conduct Divemaster-to-Instructor development: work with Divemasters preparing for the IDC, reviewing their knowledge, presentation skills, and in-water technique to prepare them for the IE assessment
• Lead Specialty Instructor courses: AWARE – Coral Reef Conservation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and other PADI Specialty programs require an SI certification to deliver
• Manage the Career Development Center's curriculum calendar: schedule IDC classes, IE sessions, and specialty instructor courses across the year with appropriate marketing and enrollment management
• Mentor newly certified Instructors in their first 6 months of teaching: the post-IDC instructor who has formal mentorship produces significantly better student experiences than one who is left to develop independently
• Maintain PADI Course Director certification through annual CD workshops and PADI renewal requirements

Requirements

• PADI Course Director certification (required for IDC facilitation)
• 1,000+ logged dives with substantial instructor-level experience
• IDC facilitation experience; training record with PADI
• English and Spanish bilingual at instructional proficiency level
• Strong dive business management knowledge for IDC curriculum's business and professional component
