Catamaran Tour Guide & Crew

Responsibilities

• Crew catamaran snorkel and sunset cruise tours departing from the Hotel Zone lagoon: manage guest boarding and safety briefing, assist the captain during navigation, and serve as the primary guest experience host during the tour
• Lead snorkeling activities during catamaran reef stop: brief guests on snorkeling equipment use, lead the underwater group at the tour's snorkel site, identify marine life for guests, and ensure all participants return safely to the catamaran
• Serve food and beverage during cruise segments: open bar cocktails, fruit platters, and DJ entertainment are standard components of the Cancún catamaran tour — the guide manages these service elements alongside the activity components
• Narrate points of interest during the cruise: the Hotel Zone geography, the lagoon marine life, the coral reef approach, and the sunset view point all benefit from the guide's narration to enhance the experience
• Enforce reef-safe sunscreen at reef snorkel stops: the catamaran tour operator's environmental compliance requires that no chemical sunscreen enters the water at the reef site
• Assist with catamaran cleaning and equipment maintenance after each tour

Requirements

• Strong swimming ability and comfort on the water
• Catamaran crew experience or boat crew certification
• English and Spanish bilingual for international passenger groups
• Food and beverage service experience
• High energy and entertaining hosting personality for the catamaran tour format

About the role

The catamaran guide who has the energy to host the boat's 60 passengers from boarding at 9am to dock at 1pm — narrating the reef approach, jumping in with the snorkel group, making sure the open bar rum punch is flowing, and leading the dancing when the DJ queues up — four days a week, from November through April, is producing an experience that 90% of those 60 people will rate as the highlight of their Cancún vacation.
