Wakeboard & Kite Instructor — Laguna Water Sports

Responsibilities

• Instruct beginner and intermediate wakeboarding on the lagoon cable system or boat tow: cable parks are growing in the Riviera Maya as an alternative to boat tow — the instructor adapts to either format depending on the operation's infrastructure
• Conduct kiteboarding lessons at Riviera Maya downwinder or lagoon locations: the Riviera Maya's wind conditions vary from Cancún's Laguna Nichupté — the instructor identifies optimal lesson sites based on conditions
• Lead SUP fitness classes for resort guests or local members: SUP fitness has developed a dedicated participant base in the Playa area among fitness-oriented resort guests and expatriate residents
• Manage lesson booking scheduling and client progress tracking
• Maintain tow rope, wakeboard, and kite equipment in operating condition
• Coordinate weather and wind assessment for daily lesson planning: morning trade winds are optimal for kite lessons; afternoon thermal effects change the training environment — the instructor plans the daily lesson calendar around predictable wind patterns

Requirements

• Wakeboard instructor experience or strong personal wakeboarding skill with teaching aptitude
• IKO Kiteboarding Instructor Level 1 for kite lessons
• SUP instructor certification (ISA or equivalent) for SUP fitness programs
• English and ideally Spanish and a European language for the Riviera Maya's international water sports student market
• Strong personal fitness for demonstrating technique throughout lesson days
