Responsibilities

  • Crew and co-guide catamaran snorkel and sunset cruise tours departing from Puerto Vallarta marina: tours typically visit Los Arcos Marine Sanctuary for snorkeling, followed by a return sunset cruise
  • Lead snorkeling activities at Los Arcos: the Los Arcos rock formations are home to a rich reef community including sea turtles, eels, and diverse tropical fish — the guide leads the group through the underwater rock arch formations while identifying and narrating marine life
  • Serve open bar and food during the cruise segments: the PVR catamaran tour format includes food and beverage service that is managed by the crew
  • Conduct pre-tour safety briefing: life jacket donning, snorkel equipment use, and underwater hand signals are covered before departure
  • Support the whale watching integration during the December–March season: humpback whale sightings along the route from marina to Los Arcos are regular during this period — the guide narrates any encounters and manages guest excitement at a safe vessel-to-whale distance
  • Assist with catamaran docking, rigging, and end-of-day cleaning

Work environment

Catamaran tour crew and snorkel guide from Puerto Vallarta marina. Multi-activity tour combining snorkeling, sailing, food service, and seasonal whale watching in Banderas Bay.

About the role

The Los Arcos snorkel guide who surfaces from a dive through the underwater arch with 6 guests trailing behind them — sea turtles visible on the reef 5 meters below, the midday sun refracting through the Pacific water overhead — back on the catamaran 10 minutes later with guests uploading photos before the boat even starts moving — is experiencing PVR's best daily workplace moment. That reef, with that visibility, on a calm November morning, is one of the most beautiful snorkeling environments in Mexico.
