Freediving Instructor & Ocean Guide

Responsibilities

• Teach Molchanovs (or AIDA) Wave 1 and Wave 2 freediving courses: the cenote environment is one of the world's best for beginning freediving development — the extraordinary visibility and calm freshwater of the cenote pools allows students to see their depth and trajectory clearly, accelerating learning
• Lead guided ocean freediving sessions at Tulum's offshore reef system: ocean freediving for certified beginners on the reef requires current assessment, depth limit management, and specific buddy protocol for unassisted descent
• Conduct daily freediving pool sessions for resort guests and enthusiasts who want an introduction without full certification: 2-hour pool-based breathwork and static apnea introduction with individual coaching
• Apply specific cenote safety protocols for freediving: the cenote freediving environment requires specific safety standards — never dive alone, buddy at surface during every descent, no hyperventilation before descent, maximum depth limit by certification level
• Provide breathwork and apnea coaching for yoga and wellness retreat groups: Tulum's wellness retreat market often incorporates ocean breathwork as a modality — the freediving instructor's skills transfer directly to this context
• Contribute to the cenote freediving community's safety culture through informal mentorship of newer practitioners

Requirements

• Molchanovs Instructor or AIDA 3+ Star with teaching experience
• Cenote freediving experience (freshwater adjustments, equalization in vertical environment)
• Ocean freediving safety management knowledge
• Personal alignment with the Tulum wellness and eco-tourism values
• English fluency; Spanish and ideally a European language
