Weddings & EventsBanquet Operations Manager — Luxury & Boutique Events
Boutique luxury hotel or private estate, Zona Hotelera Norte, Cancún
Cancún
Fixed monthly + performance bonus for event satisfaction scores
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet and event operations for a boutique luxury property hosting high-budget weddings and exclusive events: smaller team, smaller volume, but significantly higher per-event service standard than resort operations
- Develop and enforce the property's luxury banquet service protocol: every touchpoint — table setting, wine service, plate presentation, timing between courses, service choreography during key event moments — is defined to a boutique luxury standard and maintained consistently
- Manage an expert small banquet team: boutique luxury operations work with a core team of 6–12 trained professionals rather than a large flexible staff — each team member must be personally skilled at the highest service level
- Coordinate with the property's private chef or executive chef on luxury menu execution: boutique luxury banquet service requires that the kitchen team and service team operate with complete mutual awareness — menu timing, plating choreography, and course service intervals must be designed in collaboration
- Personal presence throughout each event: in a boutique luxury property, the Banquet Operations Manager is visible and engaged throughout the evening — available to the coordinator, to the hosting couple, and to the kitchen — not managing from the back of the room
- Produce post-event evaluation reports with specific recommendations for service improvement in the next comparable event
Requirements
- 3+ years banquet management with luxury or boutique event service experience
- Luxury table and wine service personal competence — the manager who cannot personally demonstrate the service standard they're training cannot maintain it
- Small high-performance team development and coaching
- English fluency for luxury international event client interaction
- Personal composure in high-visibility events with demanding luxury clients
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Fixed monthly + event satisfaction performance bonus
- Boutique resort dining and facilities access
- Career track to F&B Director or Boutique Operations Director
Work environment
Luxury banquet operations at a boutique Cancún property. High-standard small-team event service management with direct client visibility in a five-star event environment.
About the role
The luxury banquet manager who personally checks every place setting before the doors open — who knows by feel whether the silver is at the right angle and by sight whether the napkin fold is correct — is not being obsessive. They are enforcing a standard that their team reproduces because they have seen it reproduced consistently by their manager. The standard travels from the manager's hands to the team's habits, not from a training manual.
