Banquet Operations Manager — Hacienda & Colonial Hotel Events

Hacienda event venue and colonial boutique hotel, Guadalajara and metropolitan area

Guadalajara

MXN 18,000 – 26,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly

Responsibilities

  • Lead banquet operations for hacienda event venues outside Guadalajara and colonial hotel properties within the city: manage service teams that may operate across two distinct venue types in the same event portfolio
  • Develop hacienda-specific operations protocols: hacienda event venues operate without full hotel infrastructure — kitchen capacity, electrical systems, generator dependency, water supply, and service equipment must be assessed and planned for each event at venues that are architectural rather than commercial hospitality properties
  • Execute the Guadalajara domestic wedding service sequence: lazo ceremony coordination with the F&B team (pausing service during the ceremony), multiple entertainment transitions (mariachi reception, formal dinner, banda late-night service), traditional Mexican menu service (menudo, birria, pozole for late-night service), and extended family celebration timeline management all require specific operational knowledge
  • Manage late-night service operations: Guadalajara hacienda weddings characteristically run until 3–5am — the banquet manager must plan staffing, meal service sequence, and kitchen logistics for an event timeline that most hotel banquet operations in other markets don't encounter
  • Coordinate hacienda transport logistics: the service team may need to transport equipment to hacienda venues that are 30–60 minutes from the city — transport vehicle coordination, equipment inventory, and arrival timing are operational responsibilities
  • Train the service team on the specific cultural expectations of the Guadalajara wedding guest: Tapatio guests are discerning about service quality and cultural authenticity in equal measure

Requirements

  • Banquet management with domestic Mexican wedding and hacienda event experience
  • Knowledge of Guadalajara's domestic wedding culture and the late-night extended event timeline
  • Hacienda property operations management (generator, water, kitchen infrastructure assessment)
  • Team management for events that run until the early morning hours
  • Spanish native; functional English for international guests at mixed-market events

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Fixed monthly salary
  • Meals at hotel and hacienda properties during shift
  • Career development in Mexico's most culturally distinctive regional events market

Work environment

Hacienda and colonial hotel banquet operations in Guadalajara and the metropolitan Jalisco area. Domestic wedding culture-specific service management in Mexico's most vibrant regional celebration market.

About the role

The Guadalajara banquet manager who has run 100 Tapatio weddings — who knows exactly when the mariachi will transition to the first dance, when the lazo ceremony requires a complete service pause, and when to fire the late-night birria for the guests who are still dancing at 2am — has internalized a cultural event logic that no operations manual captures. That knowledge is entirely local and entirely experiential, and it's what makes experienced Guadalajara banquet professionals genuinely irreplaceable in their home market.
