Weddings & EventsBanquet Operations Manager — Eco-Luxury Venue
Eco-luxury boutique resort or private jungle venue, Tulum
Tulum
Fixed monthly + event satisfaction performance bonus
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet operations for Tulum boutique eco-events: coordinate and supervise the service team for jungle and beach venue events, executing the coordinator's event plan through precise operational management of setup, service, and breakdown
- Establish and maintain Tulum ecological product standards for all banquet operations: biodegradable tableware, natural fiber napkins, beeswax candles, wooden or bamboo serving utensils, and filtered water service in reusable vessels — no plastic or synthetic disposables anywhere in the event footprint
- Manage low-electricity event service: Tulum's boutique venues are often partially or fully off-grid during events — service approaches that require minimal artificial light, portable bar systems, and silent service choreography must be developed and trained with the team
- Coordinate cenote proximity safety protocols: events adjacent to cenotes require specific team safety awareness — no chemical products, glass item control near the water, and guest proximity management for the cenote edge area
- Lead a small, highly trained service team of 4–8: boutique Tulum events are low-volume, low-headcount, and high-standard — each team member must execute at a level that requires direct personal training from the manager
- Produce post-event operational debrief with sustainability compliance report for venue management
Requirements
- Banquet operations experience with outdoor or eco-venue management
- Genuine personal commitment to environmental sustainability standards — this is operationally enforced, not aspirationally stated
- Small high-performance team training and development
- Cenote and jungle venue safety awareness
- English fluency for boutique international event client visibility
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Housing support in Tulum
- Fixed monthly + event satisfaction performance bonus
- Access to eco-resort facilities and wellness programming
- Career track to F&B Director or Eco-Operations Director
Work environment
Eco-luxury boutique banquet operations in Tulum. Small-team, high-standard outdoor event management with strict ecological compliance in Mexico's leading sustainability destination.
About the role
The Tulum banquet team that serves a 5-course dinner to 30 guests at a long palm-wood table in a jungle clearing — by candlelight, on ceramic plates made by a Oaxacan artisan, with mezcal poured from hand-blown glass bottles — without a single piece of plastic or synthetic material visible anywhere — has executed an event that every guest photographs and that the eco-resort's reputation is built upon. The banquet manager who trains and leads that team to that standard, consistently, is the operational foundation of a very specific kind of brand promise.
