Weddings & EventsWedding & Events Coordinator — Colonial & Hacienda Venues
Colonial boutique hotel and hacienda event venue, Guadalajara and metropolitan area
Guadalajara
Fixed monthly + gratuity income from weddings
Responsibilities
- Coordinate weddings and social celebrations at Guadalajara's colonial hotel properties and hacienda venues in the metropolitan outskirts: hacienda weddings outside Guadalajara are among the most sought-after event experiences in Jalisco — the coordinator manages guest transport logistics, multi-hour reception programs, and the traditional Mexican wedding sequence with deep cultural knowledge
- Guide couples through the Guadalajara-specific vendor landscape: mariachi grupos for the serenata, charros for ceremonial horseback entrance elements at hacienda venues, regional tequila producers for welcome and toast service, and Guadalajara's strong floral design community
- Manage the traditional Mexican wedding program sequence: the serenata, religious ceremony timing (coordination with parish administration for church weddings), lazo, arras, coin shower, and the reception program including vals, second dance, and late-night entertainment transition
- Coordinate hacienda venue logistics outside the city: haciendas in the Guadalajara metropolitan area are often 30–60 minutes from the city — guest shuttle coordination, vendor arrival scheduling, and catering team transport are all coordinator responsibilities
- Manage outdoor heat protocols: Guadalajara's May–June pre-rainy season can produce extreme heat that affects outdoor ceremony timing, guest comfort, and floral preservation — the coordinator adjusts ceremony timing and adds comfort elements accordingly
- Produce detailed timelines and BEOs for hacienda events that operate without the infrastructure of a hotel property
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Mexican wedding customs and the Guadalajara hacienda event format
- Experience coordinating outdoor events in a climate that includes extreme heat and rainy season weather variability
- Strong Spanish language and domestic Mexican wedding cultural fluency
- Guadalajara vendor network including mariachi, floral, catering, and hacienda venue management relationships
- Guest transport and multi-location logistics coordination
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Fixed monthly + gratuity income from wedding parties
- Career track to Events Manager or Wedding Company founding in Jalisco's active market
- Professional development in Mexico's most culturally distinctive wedding market
Work environment
Colonial hotel and hacienda wedding coordination in Guadalajara and the Jalisco metropolitan area. Culturally specific domestic Mexican wedding coordination work in one of the country's most vibrant regional markets.
About the role
The Guadalajara wedding that begins with a mariachi serenata outside the bride's family home at 6am, moves to a baroque church ceremony, transitions to a hacienda outside the city, and ends with a banda set and dancing until 4am — compressed the full depth of Mexican wedding culture into a single day. The coordinator who made that happen without a single scheduling conflict spent two months building a timeline that accommodated everything from the priest's Saturday afternoon schedule to the hacienda's noise ordinance cutoff.
