Wedding Coordinator — Hacienda & Wine Country

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weddings at hacienda properties and winery estates in the Guanajuato highland wine country surrounding San Miguel de Allende: the wine country around SMA — Bodegas de Los Gemelos, Cuna de Tierra, Viñedo San Lucas and others — has developed a destination wedding offering that combines vineyard aesthetics with hacienda architecture
• Develop winery-specific event planning skills: harvest season (August–October) affects venue availability and creates a harvest-themed event opportunity; the coordinator understands the winery's calendar and works with it rather than against it
• Coordinate wine and food pairing programs for wedding dinners: the Guanajuato wine country produces wines that pair specifically with the region's culinary tradition — the coordinator works with the estate's sommelier and catering team on menu development that showcases the local product
• Manage hacienda estate transport logistics: estates 20–40 minutes from SMA require guest shuttle coordination, vendor arrival sequencing, and contingency planning for Guanajuato highland weather variability (afternoon thunderstorms are common in July–August)
• Source and coordinate mezcal and artisanal spirits for welcome and toast service: the SMA area has a growing artisanal spirits community that provides distinctive alternatives to commercial mezcal and tequila options
• Handle outdoor highland weather contingency planning: afternoon thunderstorms at altitude require tent coverage planning and rapid indoor transition protocols

Requirements

• Event coordination experience with hacienda and outdoor venue expertise
• Knowledge of Guanajuato wine country and regional artisanal food and drink producers
• Experience with highland weather contingency planning for outdoor events
• English fluency for international wedding clients
• Creative vision for wine country and hacienda aesthetic event design
